Finishing the Task.
"But the eye of their God was watching over the elders of the Jews, and they were not stopped until a report could go to Darius and his written reply received." - Ezra 5:5
---- It is so wonderful to think that God is watching over all that we do and yet at the same moment, scary. All that we say, do or think is known by God and we have to make sure that we act in accordance with His ways. If we do go against what he says, and disobey him then we have the promise that he forgives us. Yet this is not an excuse to do whatever we like and then ask forgiveness.
---- The eye of God watches over us and if we are following God's plans then we have the promise that he will make sure that we complete our task. At least we will complete it to the point where it is finished in God's eyes, or our part in it is finished.
---- Sometimes we may seem that everything is being thrown at us and that it will be impossible to finish his task. However, Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 10:13, that God will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear. So even though it may seem that there is a brick wall in front of us, if we continuely seek God, he will show is the door, allowing us to complete our task.
---- The Israelites had been told that they were to start rebuilding the temple by the prophets Haggi and Zechariah and so they started to build. When their neighbours came along, they kept building because they knew it was God's will. And God watched over them and saw that the building of His temple never stopped.
---- So trust God and He will make sure you finish the task that he has set for you.
